Adult Blue King Angels are yellow with distinct curved blue lines on the body and a blue ring above the gill cover. The tip of the dorsal fin is often elongate and the caudal fin is white with a yellow margin. Juvenile Blue King Angels are blueish-black with narrow white to blue curved bars on the body.
Food
The diet of the Blue King Angel should include vegetables, meats, and angelfish food preparations containing spongiform products. When first introduced, it may need to be offered live foods such as brine shrimp or freshly chopped seafoods to entice it to eat.
Breeding
In the wild, Blue King Angel males defend several females in a very small area. Blue King Angel males and females are not distinguishable from each other. They are egg-scatterers and usually breed at dusk. In the wild, the larvae drift for a month before developing into juventiles. In captivity, the larvae rarely survive.
Compatible with
Does well in a Fish Only tank. They should not be kept with other Angels and only one should be kept per tank. Suitable tank mates include Butterflies, Tangs and Wrasses
Note
All Angelfish are considered hermaphroditic, and visibly, it is not possible to differentiate males from females.
