Description
The body is sleek and built for speed. The caudal fin is deeply-forked and helps propel the fish to outstanding speeds in its native waters. Peaceful, lively schooling fish that is only suited for a large aquarium.
Food
Red-Finned Cigar Sharks are omnivorous feeders and should be fed a balanced diet of both meaty and green foods. Prepared foods such as flakes and pellets, as well as vegetable matter such as algae tablets, blanched lettuce and peas are all ideal foods. Live foods are highly appreciated.
Breeding
This fish is difficult to sex visually and is not known to breed in captivity.
Compatible with
Peaceful although very small fishes are likely to be eaten. In the correct surroundings similarly-sized, robust cyprinids, characins and catfish are recommended tankmates but proper research is essential.
